Catherine Hays
Catherine “Catie” Hays is an associate attorney focusing on divorce and child custody matters. Catie enjoys helping her clients navigate challenging legal situations with empathy and efficiency, always prioritizing the best interests of the children and families involved. She is known for her ability to connect with clients and tailor her approach to meet their unique needs.
A Georgia native, Catie earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee and her law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where she completed the Children’s Law Concentration and received a certificate in that specialty. During law school, she received the CALI Award in Advanced Family Law and Gender-Based Violence, was a member of the Moot Court Bar and served as peer mentor chairman for the Student Bar Association.
Catie gained practical experience working as a legal extern for the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office in the Special Prosecution Unit, where she worked with children and prosecuted crimes against children and domestic violence victims.
Outside the office, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family and her miniature dachshund as well as engaging in activities that allow her to support and advocate for children.
