History
Tracing its roots in family law to friendships formed almost 20 years ago, Boyd Collar Nolen Tuggle & Roddenbery was built on shared principles of practicing law and handling cases by employing the highest technical skills to vigorously protect a client’s interests, while never compromising personal integrity.
Bob Boyd, John Collar and Richard Nolen met in the 1990s, when they practiced family law together at the same firm. Jonathan Tuggle later joined that firm in 2000. Over time, they entertained thoughts of starting their own firm.
In 2005, Bob Boyd and John Collar set out to start a new firm, Boyd Collar Knight, the precursor to Boyd Collar, formed in 2007. The four friends still shared their hope to reunite professionally. This dream was realized in 2009 when they established Boyd Collar Nolen & Tuggle, which has grown significantly with the addition of talented lawyers and paralegals. In 2018, Tina Shadix Roddenbery, a long-time friend of the lawyers of the firm and a lawyer whom the firm highly respected, brought her extensive family law experience and professional leadership to the firm, and today, Boyd Collar Nolen Tuggle & Roddenbery is recognized as the premier divorce and family law firm in Georgia.
“We all have a common goal: to build a firm that has a long-lasting legacy of superior and trustworthy representation of its clients,” says Boyd. “We have a team here that has the same mindset and dedication. We walk into our office every day mindful that the divorce and family law practice is not a paint-by-numbers business, and every case involves an individual person in an emotionally challenging situation who is trying to keep his or her dignity intact. Our job is to help with that effort.”
