On October 21, the Daily Report published an article authored by founding partner Bob Boyd about special considerations for lawyers who have partnership stakes in their firms when divorcing. Noting that “[i]t is common for a spouse of a law firm partner to request documentation about the law firm itself, such as the partnership agreement, revenue reports, tax returns, profit and loss statements, balance sheets and information about equity and nonequity partnership,” Boyd advised transparency in all dealings with the estranged spouse and colleagues.
